Here, on Broad St in Oxford, in 1555, Hugh Latimer, Nicholas Ridley and Thomas Cranmer died for their faith. These three men, unrepentant Protestants in the reign of catholic Queen Mary, were burnt alive at the stake.
People were invited to stand alone on this cross and listen to Gaude Gloriosa Dei Mater by Thomas Tallis.
Each person was then given a folded slip of paper, which when opened revealed this question- What would you die for?
